Zoo Safari Ravenna
The Safari Ravenna Wildlife and Zoological Park is a natural area with over 1,000 animals and more than 100 different species. A 4 km route allows visitors to see the animals up close without barriers, either in their own vehicle or with special trains. In the park you can meet lions, tigers, hippos and giraffes, all animals that can move independently and live in safety and well-being thanks to the care and attention of experienced keepers and veterinarians.

This Park was opened 10 years ago. It spreads across 12 hectares. It contains over 1400 freely roaming animals. Safari Ravenna's vision is to be a home to animals in distress, which have been assigned to us by the institutions, the State Forestry Corps and the animal protection associations. The P27.6 is an extremely useful telehandler for us thanks to its great flexibility. We can, in fact, use the bucket to transport feed, and thanks to the aerial work platform we can carry out repairs to hangars, shelters and lighting systems. We also have the possibility of transporting materials with the pallet forks. The many advantages that this Merlo telehandler offers us have convinced usand we are already planning to add other similar vehicles to our fleet to replace the tractors and wagons that we use today.

The well-being of the animals first
The Zookeeper is someone who literally and materially provides for the well-being of the animals inside the Zoological Gardens.Tools or vehicles like Merlo's P27.6 are extremely useful in a Zoological context. For example, when we need to bring feed to the giraffes, the Merlo telescopic handler gives us the possibility to carry out all operations quickly, easily and safely. It would be exhausting for all the Park keepers to have to prune branches at a height of 4 or 5 metres. The convenience and assistance which Merlo offers us in such cases enable us to work better, in safe conditions, and waste less energy.

The friend of animals
I had the pleasure of meeting the owners of this Park. Their main needs were to clean the stables, prune the trees and bushes, and transport animal feed from the farm to the Park. Given their needs, I thought I should propose a telescopic handler: the P27.6, a type of machine they knew little about. Thanks to the telehandler, we have solved numerous problems and the management has told me several times about the symbiosis that has been created between the P27.6 and the free-roaming animals in the Park. Thanks to the quietness and the smooth and precise movements of the Merlo telehandler, the zookeepers can move around the park in complete safety. In fact, the animals approach the vehicle without being frightened, even the most ferocious ones.

The lift is a Panoramic 27.6.
Its four steering wheels and smooth, precise movements allow it to approach the animals without disturbing them. Thanks to its wide choice of equipment, the Merlo P27.6 can adapt to the various operational needs of the Ravenna Safari Park, from bringing feed to the animals to cleaning the stables. Using a Merlo telescopic handler helps the Zoo Safari staff to work better, in complete safety, and to waste less energy.
